Two-three days after the spreadsheet was made available in version 1.2.7, Google made some changes that made the spreadsheet defunct. For that reason it was temporarily taken down. Here it is again in a temporary new version (2.2.0) that does not require a Google API key.
Screenshots: here (version 1.2.7) (automateexcel.com)
Download:
- Current version (2.2.0) - "black" (135 kB)
- Previous version (1.2.7) - "blue" (105 kB) (defunct)
Note: The old version (1.2.7) is now open source, so if you have time to look at the SOAP calls, please do so. Make sure you contact me if you can make a workaround that uses the Google API. I would prefer to have the sheet use the API.
Requirements:
- The sheet requires Microsoft Excel 2003 (Excel 11)
- You will need to enable macros
- You will need a Google API Key for version 1.2.7 but that version doesn't work anyway, so don't bother
- You will need a Yahoo! API Key
- Some might need to install Microsoft Office 2003 Web Services Toolkit
- Some will even need to install MSXML 3.0
Privacy: The sheet does not "phone home" to clsc.net, but Google and Yahoo can monitor the use of your API keys.
License: Use it at will, at random, at home, or at work. No restrictions on use apart from those implied by API TOS.
Support: There's no support. At all.
Known bugs: Version 1.2.7 does not work. See here or here
Version 2.2.0 has some bugs in links because Google formats them badly.
Copyright: Yes.
Price: Free (as in beer).
Resale: Not for resale.

Btw. thanks Mark. I think you will find that you have some problems with your original sheet, caused by the changes Google made. As for "foobar", I'm sure that's a valid Yahoo API key ;-)
